is that a camel?

This morning I had one of those moments that I'm known for. The one where something unbelievably stupid comes out of my mouth. It happens all the time. It happens pretty much every day, but this one was priceless. To put it in context, I woke up this morning royally hungover, and realized that sometime during the raucous night of drinking before, I lost all of my shoes, and attempted to cut someone else's shirt up. I felt extra slow this morning, as if I had noticeably less brain cells. John was looking at some awesome photographs of animals in utero, and called me over to see them too. The first one was obviously an elephant. But the second one, for some reason, I just wasn't seeing it right. I literally had no idea what I was looking at. It didn't make visual sense to me immediately. So I said, "is that a camel?" And as the words came out of my mouth, I knew I should have kept my mouth shut. John said, "no, it's a dolphin." Damn, I have no earthly idea how I mistook a dolphin for a camel. I didn't even say a word. What can you say to that. There wasn't going to be any way to redeem myself. I just walked away.
